Privacy Policy for Write

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This policy describes what data the iPad app Write by Conpilo processes, for what purpose and on what legal basis. It supplements the general privacy policy for davedinapoli.de.

1. Controller

2. What Write is

Write is a notepad for the iPad and the Apple Pencil. You write by hand on pages with a grid, lines, dots or no pattern and share the note as a PDF at the end. The app contains no ads, no analytics, no crash reporters and no third-party SDKs. Without signing in to Conpilo, no data leaves your device, apart from the iCloud sync you control through your own Apple account.

3. Data processed

a) Notes

Your strokes, paper setting and page order are stored as a document (.write package) wherever you save it: locally on the iPad or in your iCloud Drive. Write only accesses these files to display and edit them. There is no Write server that notes are uploaded to.

b) iCloud Drive (optional)

If you store a document in iCloud Drive, Apple syncs it between your devices under Apple's privacy policy. Write cannot read or evaluate your iCloud.

c) Conpilo sign-in (optional)

If you sign in to Write with your Conpilo account, your e-mail address and password are sent once to Conpilo's authentication service (Supabase, EU data centre in Frankfurt). A session token comes back, which Write stores in the iPad keychain. With this token Write fetches from conpilo.de which businesses you belong to, which clients with private sessions exist, who is up next according to the calendar, and, for the chosen client, the cover page data: name, address, phone, date of birth and sessions with attendance, location and payment date. This data comes from your own Conpilo business where you already have access; Write is just another screen for it. The cover page is written into the document and therefore stays with you, like the note itself (locally or in iCloud Drive).

Write sends nothing back to Conpilo: no notes, no strokes, no PDFs.

d) Sharing as PDF

When sharing, Write creates a PDF file and hands it to the iPadOS share sheet. What happens to the file afterwards (AirDrop, Mail, messenger, Files) is your choice and subject to the terms of the respective service.

4. Purposes and legal basis

Notes are processed solely to provide the app's functions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The Conpilo sign-in and the retrieval of cover page data happen only at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Where you process your clients' data in Write as a counselor, you are the controller for that; Write only provides the tool.

5. Recipients

Apple (iCloud Drive, share sheet) and, only when signed in, Conpilo (conpilo.de, operated by Dave Di Napoli) with the authentication service Supabase Inc. (servers in the EU). No transfer to third countries takes place unless you trigger it yourself via the share sheet.

6. Retention

Notes remain until you delete them. The session token stays in the keychain until you sign out in Write or delete the app. Write creates no further data.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since Write stores no data with us, you handle access and erasure for your notes yourself on your device; for your Conpilo account the privacy policy of conpilo.de applies.

8. Changes to this policy

If Write's features change, we update this policy. The current version is always available at davedinapoli.de/write/privacy-policy.
